2015 NFL Mock Draft - DD

1.) TB: Jameis Winston QB Tampa Bay has the opportunity to draft their first franchise QB, and Winston is the best of the bunch. Winston has the "Clutch Gene" that teams want in their QBs. 2.) TEN: Marcus Mariota QB Marcus is the next best thing to Winston with a prestigious resume coming out of Oregon. Titans need to decide if they want to focus at QB position where they already have Zach Mettenberger, or trade down and build on draft picks for a depleted team. The latter seems to be the smarter option for me. Mettenberger has the tangibles to be a starting QB in the NFL; they just need to put the talent around him.

3.) JAX: Dante Fowler Jr. OLB Dante is a stud, and that's what Gus needs for his defense. Fowler gets to stay in his home state and Jags find a super star potential pass rusher. 4.) OAK: Leonard Williams DT Leonard is the best prospect in this draft, but considering teams needs this is where I can see him falling to. He has great potential, and with the right coaching he can be a defensive nightmare for offenses. I think Leonard is the smarter choice for Oakland than risking their 4th overall pick on a loaded WR class. 5.) WASH: Brandon Scherff A lot of people like a pass rusher here after losing Orakpo to free agency. I like Washington to draft the best OL in this draft where he can come in right away and play guard or tackle. Protect your QB and maybe you can get decent production out of him. 6.) NYJ: Amari Cooper WR I didn't think it was worth it for the Jets to trade up and give up draft picks for Mariota. Here they can get the best WR in the draft to come in right away and play opposite of Brandon Marshall. I also believe they draft a QB in this draft, just not the first round. 7.) CHI: Danny Shelton NT Chicago's defense was non existent last season, ranking near dead last in total defense. Chicago needs a NT and I think Shelton is the perfect fit. Danny can bring a mean streak to this fluffy defense. 8.) ATL: Vic Beasley OLB Beasley help sky rocket his draft stock at the combine. Atlanta needs a productive pass rusher that can disrupt the QBs in their division. Besides Fowler, I think Beasley is the most NFL ready of pass rushers in this draft. 9.) NYG: Arik Armstead DT Giants key to success is their pass rush. Armstead is still a little raw but I think Giants can coach him up to be an effective run stuffer and pass rusher. 10.) STL: Kevin White WR White is the other top WR in this years class. St Louis needs a big target WR who can go up and get the ball, and White can do just that for them. I think White has more value here than drafting an OL with this pick. 11.) MINN: Andrus Peat OT Minnesota needs to think about protecting their most valuable asset. Peat is a big body with pro bowl potential, who will be able to come in right away. 12.) CLE: Bud Dupree OLB If I'm helping the Browns draft I'm begging them to not waste their first pick on an offensive skills position here because they are god awful at it. The Browns face Big Ben, Flacco, and Dalton twice a year, they need to be able to pressure them if they want a shot at beating them. Bud Dupree is a freak athlete at 270 pounds that can help bolster Cleveland's pass rush and compliment Kruger & Mingo. 13.) NO: Randy Gregory OLB Saint's need an elite pass rusher. With comparisons to Pierre-Paul, Gregory would be a nice chess piece in Bob Ryan's defense. 14.) MIA: Breshad Perriman WR With the departure of Wallace, Miami needs an offensive burner. At 6' 2" 212 Perriman runs a 40 in sub 4.3 seconds! He has a high ceiling, and I think Tannenhill would be ecstatic to have a weapon like that. 15.) SF: Trae Waynes CB Waynes is a fast bump n run CB, with fluid hips to shut down opposing teams #1s. The 49ers need that shut down CB, and can get the best one in the draft here. 16.) HOU: DeVante Parker WR Parker will be a nice replacement for Andre Johnson. He is a possession wide receiver with excellent body control that can come in and be a go-to target for whoever their QB is. 17.) SD: Todd Gurley RB The Chargers lost Ryan Mathews to FA and I don't think Oliver is a 3 down back. Gurley is the best RB in this draft, and maybe the best overall offensive player, which is why I think he is a steal for the Chargers here. I think this move will please unhappy Rivers. 18.) KC: Malcom Brown DT Brown is a versatile DL who will attract double teams. The Chiefs front seven will be a powerhouse with the addition of Brown. 19.) CLE: Jaelen Strong WR Okay the Browns upgraded their defense with the 12th overall pick by taking Dupree. Now I'll be fine with turning the focus to offense where they need to find Gordon's replacement. Strong is a big bodied possession WR with a basketball background. He has a high ceiling that can help make their QB feel a little comfortable. 20.) PHI: Shaq Thompson LB/S Thompson would be a versatile piece for the Eagles who need a S. He is on the light side for playing LB, but he'll be a force up in the box or back in coverage for the Eagles. 21.) CIN: La'el Collins OL Collins can come in right away and play RT for the Bengals, while they wait and see how Whitworths situation plays out. I think this move will bolster an already potent rushing attack for Cincy. 22.) PITT: Shane Ray OLB Character issues aside, Ray is a steal this late in the draft. The Steelers can't rely on Harrison forever, and Jarvis Jones has been a disappoint thus far. Ray is an elite pass rusher with a good story background. I think joining the Steelers would help keep him in line and become a better football player. 23.) DET: Ereck Flowers OL Flowers is a massive OL, but is still raw. Lions will be able to move Reif to RT at some point, while they groom Flowers into the LT position. Improving the line will help keep Stafford upright to run this offense. 24.) AZ: Eli Harold OLB Harold is a strong OLB who can man the edge. The Cardinals need to improve their front 7 and Harold can come in right away and contribute. I can also see Steelers taking Harold, in this case I think the Cardinals would take Shane Ray here. 25.) CAR: Phillip Dorsett WR I think Dorsett is an excellent compliment to Kelvin Benjamin. Dorsett is a burner who can blow the tops off of defenses and take attention away from Benjamin. Newton would appreciate this move. 26.) BAL: Jalen Collins CB Collins is a big physical defender that can come in and play opposite of Smith. Peters could also be in play here, but Collins is just as good plus he doesn't have off field issues. 27.) DAL: Melvin Gordon RB With a beastly OL Dallas will be looking to replace their leading rusher in Murray. Gordon is big and fast like Murray. Also Dallas running scheme fits Gordon well, where it is one cut and hit the hole. 28.) DEN: DJ Humphries OL The Broncos are looking for a RT to replace Chris Clark, and Humphries is the best available tackle. He is big, strong, and, fast. With some coaching I think he'll eventually be able to to play LT. 29.) IND: Landon Collins SS The Colts need an imposing force in the box, and at nearly 230 lbs I think Collins can provide that spark this Colts defense is lacking. When healthy Collins can become a sledge hammer for the Colts, while he will still need to improve on his coverage skills. 30.) GB: Jordan Phillips DT Phillips is a big dude at 6' 5" and 330 lbs, who will plug up trenches. He is still raw, but his physical traits can't be denied. The Packers can use this run stuffer to help open things up for their LBs. 31.) NO: Dorial Green-Beckham WR The Saints traded Jimmy Graham for this pick and I think they use it on a big target to replace him. Green-Beckham is the biggest WR in this draft class standing at a little over 6' 5". He has character concerns, but his talent can't be overlooked. If he falls this far I think Saints need to consider him. 32:) NE: AJ Cann OL Cann is a powerful drive-blocker who can win the leverage battle. He has proven to be a consistent run blocker, which is exemplified by being a 4 year starter at South Carolina. The Patriots can plug him in at guard right away.
